CCTV Installation

CCTV Installation That Starts With the View You Need

A camera should show you something useful when it matters. WESEC plans and installs home and business CCTV around entrances, vehicles, vulnerable areas and the detail you need to see.

For homeowners, small businesses and managed properties looking for a new system, better coverage or a practical replacement for unreliable cameras.

Based in Aylesbury. Covering Milton Keynes, Tring and surrounding areas, subject to postcode confirmation. Check coverage.

Your Property, Your Priorities

For a Front Door, a Driveway or a Whole Site

The right design depends on how people approach the property, the light available and what you want to check afterwards. More cameras and higher megapixel counts do not automatically produce a better result.

  • Homes: front and rear entrances, side access, driveways, garages and garden buildings.
  • Businesses: customer entrances, stock areas, delivery points and external approaches.
  • Existing installations: poor night images, missing coverage, unreliable connections or recordings that are difficult to retrieve.
Coverage with a purpose
Agree where an overview is enough and where you need a clearer view of a person approaching.

Options Explained Around Your Needs

A practical starting point for permanent coverage

Wired IP Cameras

Compatible Power over Ethernet equipment carries power and data through one network cable. We plan cable routes, recorder capacity and future expansion together.

Choose the view for each position

Wide Views & Focused Detail

A wide or 180-degree view can help you understand an area. A more focused view may be needed at an entrance. We balance coverage, lens choice, lighting and distance.

Where running a cable is difficult

Wireless & Specialist Options

Wireless, battery or solar options can suit particular positions. Power, signal, charging and recording limitations need checking before choosing them over a wired installation.

Agree the scope before work starts. Your proposal should identify camera positions and models, cable routes, recording equipment, storage assumptions, remote viewing and any optional work. Subscription or connectivity requirements are discussed for the chosen equipment.

How Your Installation Comes Together

  1. Understand the concern

Tell us what you need to protect and what a useful recording would show. We review access points, existing equipment and likely viewing distances.

  2. Survey & Agree the Design

Check mounting positions, day and night lighting, cable access, network connections and privacy-sensitive views. Agree the equipment and scope before installation.

  3. Install & Configure

Fit and secure the equipment, complete the agreed cabling, configure recording and user access, and set up supported remote viewing.

  4. Test & Hand Over

Check the actual view, playback, recording settings and alerts. Show you how to retrieve footage and explain how to check night images once the site is dark.

WESEC Project

Six Cameras, a Wired Doorbell & an Alarm in Dunstable

At a residential property in Dunstable, WESEC installed six Hikvision cameras, including one 180-degree camera, alongside a wired doorbell, wireless alarm detectors and a main panel. Three security signs were also installed.

The combination was chosen for this property. Camera numbers, views and equipment for another home depend on its layout and priorities.

What Makes a Camera Position Useful?

Start with the action you need to see. An elevated camera can give a useful overview while a carefully positioned entrance camera can show a clearer face. We check the intended view rather than choosing a mounting height by habit.

Recording beyond your boundary needs careful consideration. Camera angles and privacy masking can reduce unnecessary capture. The ICO explains the responsibilities that apply to home CCTV.

Support After Installation

Know How to Use It. Know Who to Call.

CCTV support can include checking recorded footage, storage health, image quality, time settings and remote access. Keeping lenses clean and vegetation out of the view helps preserve useful coverage.

We explain the installed equipment, the checks you can carry out and when to ask for support. Ongoing maintenance is available for suitable systems within our coverage area.

Your Installation Questions

How much does CCTV installation cost?

The price depends on camera count and capability, cabling access, recording capacity and the finish required. Send your postcode and a brief description of the property. We discuss the scope and provide a quotation; there is no single package price that suits every installation.

Can you use my existing cables or cameras?

Possibly. We check cable type, condition, power arrangements and equipment compatibility. Reusing suitable infrastructure can be sensible, but a working picture alone does not confirm every part is suitable for the new system.

Will I be able to view it on my phone?

Supported systems can provide remote viewing. We check the internet connection, app requirements and access permissions, then explain setup and any relevant ongoing costs.

How long will footage be stored?

Retention depends on storage size, camera settings, scene activity and the recording schedule. We agree a target and the assumptions behind it rather than promising a fixed number of days for every system.
