Warehouse protected by CCTV, ANPR and automated vehicle deterrence

Commercial Case Study · 2025

Automated Vehicle Deterrence & Warehouse Security

The warehouse owners were experiencing ongoing night-time disturbances caused by vehicles entering the front car park and driving in circles after hours. They needed a system that could identify vehicles, respond automatically and improve safety across the site.

Project Breakdown

How the Warehouse Security System Was Designed

Explore the CCTV design, ANPR monitoring, automated deterrence and operational safety improvements delivered across the site.

We designed and installed a large-scale CCTV system using Hikvision technology, combining vehicle detection, ANPR, strobes and audio warnings into a fully automated solution.

The system was designed not just to record incidents, but to prevent them from happening.

A total of 30 cameras were installed across the site, providing full coverage of:

  • External perimeter
  • Front car park
  • Vehicle access points
  • Internal warehouse areas

One dedicated ANPR camera was positioned at the site entrance, allowing:

  • Clear identification of every vehicle entering the land
  • Timestamped vehicle records
  • Evidential footage for incident review or enforcement if required

To address the night-time vehicle activity, we configured the CCTV system to:

  • Detect vehicles using AI analytics
  • Activate strobes and loudspeaker warnings automatically
  • Run on a scheduled time profile, activating at night and disabling in the morning

When a vehicle is detected during restricted hours:

  • Strobe lights activate immediately
  • A loud audio warning is played
  • The event is recorded and logged

This creates a strong visual and audible deterrent without requiring staff or security presence.

In addition to external protection, the internal cameras:

  • Improve staff safety
  • Assist with incident investigation
  • Support health & safety procedures
  • Provide visibility across high-risk operational areas

This turns the CCTV system into both a security and operational safety tool.

  • Night-time vehicle disturbances significantly reduced
  • Clear identification of all vehicles entering the site
  • Active deterrence instead of passive recording
  • Improved safety inside and outside the warehouse
  • A future-proof system designed for expansion
